Let's Shed — Privacy Policy
Last updated 26 August 2026
Let's Shed does not collect your data. There is no account to create, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party services. Your practice library is stored on your device and, if you are signed in to iCloud, in your own private iCloud storage — which the developer cannot access.
What the app stores, and where
Let's Shed keeps a practice library: your goals, your logged practice sessions, your instrument profiles, and your practice reminders. It also remembers small preferences — the metronome's tempo and beat pattern, which profile you are looking through, and your chosen appearance and accent colour.
All of it is written to the device you are using. Nothing is sent to a server run by the developer, because there isn't one.
iCloud sync
If your device is signed in to iCloud, your practice library is mirrored to the private database of the app's iCloud container so that it appears on your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account.
This is Apple's CloudKit, and the private database is exactly that: readable by you, on your devices, under your Apple Account. The developer has no access to it and no way to obtain access to it. Apple's handling of that data is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.
Sync is on whenever iCloud is available. If you are not signed in to iCloud, or you turn iCloud off for Let's Shed in your device settings, the app keeps working and your library simply stays on the one device.
Notifications
Practice reminders are local notifications, scheduled on your device by the app and delivered by your device. Their contents are never transmitted anywhere. The app asks for notification permission only when you switch your first reminder on, and it works without that permission — the reminders just don't arrive.
The app also registers for silent push notifications. These carry no content and display nothing; they exist solely so Apple's CloudKit can tell the app that something changed on another one of your devices.
The microphone, and other things the app does not use
Let's Shed does not request or use the microphone, the camera, your location, your contacts, your calendar, your photos, your health data, or your device's advertising identifier. The metronome generates its click sounds mathematically; it does not listen to anything.
Tracking
Let's Shed does not track you. It contains no analytics or crash-reporting SDK, no advertising SDK, and no third-party code of any kind. Nothing about your use of the app is shared with anyone, for any purpose.
Children
The app collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Deleting your data
Deleting the app removes the library stored on that device. To remove the synced copy as well, turn off iCloud for Let's Shed, or delete the app's data from Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage on iOS. Because the developer holds none of your data, there is nothing to request deletion of from us.
TestFlight
While Let's Shed is distributed as a beta through TestFlight, Apple collects information about installs, sessions, and crashes, and testers may send feedback and screenshots to the developer through the TestFlight app. That is Apple's channel, not the app's, and it is described in Apple's privacy policy and the TestFlight terms you accept when you join. Feedback you choose to send will include your device model and OS version.
Changes
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted at this address with a new date at the top.
